Yes, we do! We ask that if you see on our webite that we are full that week, that you join our online waitlist through Sawyer (our registration system). This way we will offer up spots in order of their appearance on the waitlist.
We would appreciate it if you registered at least one day in advance, however you can register up to 2 hours before the start of class time. Given perishable items are involved and the significant prep needed, we appreciate your understanding that we are not always able to accommodate short notice changes.
We take pride in customizing our classes to best fit the needs and skill levels of each age bracket. Because of this, when making exceptions to the rules, which we may do on occasion, we ask that the older sibling join the younger class.
Adult participation is required for our toddler classes, ages 2-5.
We post our schedules & menus two months in advance.
At this time we are just hosting in-person birthday parties and events at our Lincoln Park Studio, but stay tuned!
Regardless of any allergies or restrictions your kiddos may have, we still would love to meet them in the kitchen. When registering your child, please be as specific as possible in regards to their needs so that we may help to the best of our ability. We do cook with fish, shellfish, meat, and poultry in our kitchen. We do not cook directly with any peanuts at Junior Chefs Kitchen.
Yes, however we are unable to pro-rate the current month at the time of cancellation. Should you cancel mid-month or with a week or so left on your membership, just finish out the month! Contact us to cancel (312) 264-9622
Yes, our memberships are per student, so you would need to purchase one for each child that plans to attend the class.
Unfortunately at this time we are not set-up for early drop offs. We do, however, provide aftercare from 3pm-5pm.
Once your child is five years of age, and no longer cooking with a parent, we do require them to be fully independent in the restroom and potty-trained.
That's a great question! Our instructors are well-versed on proper storage, sanitation and hygiene surrounding cooking practices. It's important to us that we also teach the students the safest way to handle and cook these proteins.
While we do not have a designated Mother's Room in the studio, we welcome all nursing moms! Utilize the waiting room, or grab a chair in the studio. We do have a changing table in the restroom.
Not only do we provide a waiting area, we have a countertop overlooking the classroom that is great for remote work with charging access points as well. Did we mention the complimentary coffee bar!?
Our monthly membership package includes weekly classes, digital content (recipe repository + nutritional info), FREE monthly date night, flexible scheduling, cancel anytime!
Our curriculum is focused on healthy, yet non-restrictive nourishment and educating our youth on the essential life skills of cooking and nutrition knowledge, all while fostering independence, confidence, leadership and proactive healthy habits.
When logged into your Sawyer account, search for the class of your choice, select Drop In from the Booking Option. The class should be automatically deducted from the total class credits you have. Each billing cycle, 4 new credits will be added to your account. From there, you can sign up for the next 4 classes!
Yes!! We would love to host your classroom or grade. We can accommodate individual classes of up to 28 children or split up grades into a few hour-long classes. Please contact hello@juniorchefskitchen.com to schedule your field trip today!
We do not have any adult classes, BUT we highly recommend Bettie's Chicago! Their classes are designed for adults and take place in their 1950's diner themed baking school and event space!
Yes! We can accommodate a variety of individual events that you might be interested in. Some ideas are Family Pasta Nights or kids cook and serve the parents while they kick back with a glass of wine and relax (or zip out and run errands). The beauty of being a nimble small business is we can really accommodate a wide variety of offerings. Just let us know what you want to do! hello@juniorchefskitchen.com
Stay tuned! We will be announcing this in 2024!
